Our Clinic

Azzolino Chiropractic Neurology Group (ACNG) is one of the few chiropractic neurology clinics on the West Coast.  We are located in the beautiful Pacific Heights/Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco and have three Board-Certified Chiropractic Neurologists and a neurosurgeon currently practicing chiropractic to care for your needs.

The doctors at ACNG are trained in the latest and most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic applications of brain-based modalities to maximize human performance. The procedures of chiropractic neurology center on the recognition that there is an intimate interaction between the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system, mediated by sense receptors in the joints and muscles.

At ACNG, we are specialists in assessing the functional state of an individual’s nervous system and determining appropriate non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical interventions to assist in optimizing function.

Our diagnostic abilities and techniques have proven to be extremely successful with patients suffering a variety of pain syndromes, peripheral nerve injuries, balance and movement disorders, conditions involving functional imbalances in the hemispheres of the brain (such as ADD, ADHD, learning disabilities, and mild depression), and with healthy patients and athletes in a quest to maximize their potential. Our procedures differ greatly from those of traditional chiropractic due to our understanding that a joint problem may not always be primary, but may be secondary to muscle imbalances resulting from altered function of relay centers of the nervous system.

Our training is not just in techniques of joint manipulation but also in extensive neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation protocols designed to address neuromuscular imbalances.

Patients at ACNG have the benefit of sophisticated technology to aid in diagnosis and rehabilitation. We have an in-house radiology laboratory and are trained in the unique methods of stress radiography, which allows the objective viewing of alterations in biomechanical axes of movement and joint function.  We also use Video Nystagmography (VNG) to accurately diagnose vertigo and balance disorders.

We are proud to be a research site for the Carrick Institute of Graduate Studies and are currently studying patients’ temporal processing and motor planning skills with the Interactive Metronome.

The clinic also offers a variety of physiotherapy modalities such as interferential therapy, Russian stimulation, cervical and lumbar tractions, and an upper and lower-body isokinetic ergometer.

We are a 100% referral-based clinic, and we strive for complete patient satisfaction.  We will be honored to serve you in any capacity possible.
